Civil Engineering

RCL have a long history of working closely with contractors on design and build contracts and we pride ourselves on the good relationships we have maintained with the contractors that we have worked with, some over many years. We are good team players and engage with the site teams to produce structures that consider buildability together with function.

RCL specialise in the design of the civil infrastructure for National Grid Electrical Substations. In addition our design experience also includes the civil infrastructure of water and sewage treatment works and factory units. Structures include aeration plants, circular tanks, inlet works, digesters, secondary containment bunds for oil containing plant, equipment bases, control buildings, pumping stations, site drainage and access roads.

Design work includes:

  • bunds for oil containing plant
  • equipment bases
  • control buildings
  • pumping stations
  • site and oil containment drainage
  • access roads
  • equipment support structures
  • RCL are also registered as a CDAE (Civils) for National Grid Schemes
