As weather patterns change arising in more frequent high intensity rainstorms the need for Flood Defences to mitigate against the risk of localised flooding becomes ever more essential; not only to protect against the potential loss and damage to property but also the more serious prospect of wiping out the energy sources and data storage of the Nation.
RCL have designed and detailed many flood defence schemes to protect sites and assets of Critical National Importance from the provision of localised equipment defences to the construction of a flood defence wall, complete with flood doors and high level access points, to protect an entire substation. Each system is designed to allow operatives access whilst the site is entirely cut off, enabling them to maintain resources to the Nation, and each system is designed to cope with a 1 in 1000 year rainstorm occurring during the period of flood.
